Metro Vets 2020 Mildura Golf Tour
Dear Tour Participants,
As the world navigates this unprecedented COVID-19 global pandemic, we as golfers must play our role and take strong proactive action in containing the spread of the virus within the community. The health and wellbeing of each one of you is paramount. Unfortunately due to our senior status, we are vulnerable and in the high risk category.
Over the last week, the Tour Committee has been holding lengthy discussions on an action plan to minimise the risks involved with holding a Tour of over 180 participants. This included the possibility of going ahead with the Tour, but practicing social distancing, which would mean cancelling lunch each day and cancelling the Wednesday get together. In other words turn up, play golf and then leave. Winners to be announced on our website. No socialising.
In light of the latest information re the virus, the Tour Committee has decided reluctantly to reschedule the Mildura Tour 2020 to 31 August 2020.
ACCORDINGLY, THE RIVERLAND TOUR 2020 WILL BE CANCELLED.
A final decision on the go ahead of the rescheduled Mildura Tour will be made on 13 June 2020. Hopefully by then the spread of the COVID-19 virus will be under control and we can get back to normality. If the Tour does proceed, we plan to send out Entry Forms by the end of June 2020.
This action is regrettable; however it has not been taken lightly. The Tour Committee regrets to have to make this most difficult decision, as we know you all look forward to this event given that it is the most popular Tour of the year. We hope you are understanding and can change your plans to attend the rescheduled Mildura Tour. Tour participants should therefore either cancel and/or defer their Mildura accommodation, whilst also cancelling any Riverland arrangements. The Tour Director will be mailing out full refund cheques ASAP.
Be assured the Tour Committee will continue to strictly monitor the situation given the current health issues confronting us as a community. In the meantime please undertake best practise hygiene protocols to prevent the spread of the virus.
In closing, we again reiterate that the general safety and welfare of our Tour participants will continue to be our highest priority.
