In the main, we organise our games on Mondays although some of the Country Divisions may play on other days of the week to optimise the use of the course being played and/or to cater to the needs of their membership. 

All games are “shotgun” start. Early registrations normally open around 7:30AM for processing of competition fees but please arrive no later than 8:00AM for registration, announcements if needed and to arrive at your nominated tee in time for our 8.30AM Shotgun start. On arrival, check your number from the Registration Sheet displayed and give that number to the Starter when checking in. Also, check your playing handicap from the displayed sheet. Then report to the Starter to be allocated a group/tee. 

Cash is no longer accepted for payment of competition fees at Adelaide Metro events. All competition fees will be processed on the day with your credit/debit card by EFTPOS terminal. Please allow sufficient time for this.

From March 7, all members playing in an event will be required to demonstrate their Covid-19 vaccination status by showing an official Medicare vaccination certificate if they have not already provided their vaccination certificate to the Secretary/Treasurer for inclusion in the membership records.

If playing in another Division's event, please follow their protocols including paying by cash, writing your name and Home Club on an envelope, enclose the exact competition fee amount and writing that on the envelope too. Do NOT fold notes or use coin.

NB The On Line Booking option is available only to Adelaide Metro members, and for Adelaide Metro events.

Alternatively (or in the case of members from other Divisions) you can phone or text the Booking Officer on the number listed in the Contacts page.

Competitions are held in 3 Grades, “A”, “B” and “C”, determined by handicaps so we have roughly one third of players in each Grade and are predominantly Stableford events. Competitions will also feature Nearest the Pin and Birdie prizes as side events on all Par 3 holes.

VGSA is registered with Golf Link and player’s handicaps are updated as soon as possible after each game.


If you are unable to attend a game for which you have booked, PLEASE CANCEL your booking as early as possible – if made by phone or email please cancel accordingly. If the booking was made online through the Adelaide Metro Vets website, please login to the website and cancel your registration online.

Online cancellations can be made up to 6:00PM on the Friday immediately before play by logging on to the Adelaide Metro Vets website and navigating to the 'Bookings' page from the main menu. For cancellations after 6:00PM on the Friday prior to play, phone or text the Booking Officer or Captain (See 'Contacts' page for phone numbers).

Please note that penalties may be applied for 'No Shows'.    


The match committee will endeavour to display player’s handicaps at our games but, as we all know from our own club competitions, at the risk of being disqualified, we are personally responsible to know our current Golf Australia Handicap and Daily Handicap when entering a competition.
